About Summer Kitchen Bake Shop
Our store was inspired by our summer days spent on Martha's Vineyard. As you drive down the country roads there are miles of rolling farmlands with the ocean as a backdrop. We wanted our summer kitchen to have the look of today but the feel of summer kitchens built long ago behind old farmhouses. In the hot summer months, these kitchens were used for cooking and preserving the bounty of the farm.
At Summer Kitchen Bake Shop we hope to be the community's summer kitchen. Our ingredients come from local farmers and purveyors. We spend the time making long cooked braises and stews, pizza by hand, and salads fresh from the farm. We also have wonderful baked goods for breakfast and have nostalgic cupcakes and seasonal fruit tarts for dessert. You can visit us anytime of day for fresh take-away food for your family, friends or just for yourself.
Our chefs cook what's in season and know what's best from the farms, fisheries, cheese makers, and ranchers we support. We create our menu with a dedication to sustainability. We believe food should be good, clean and fair. All of our packaging is recyclable, compostable or reusable.
After years of living and cooking in the bay area we are so happy to have this wonderful place to share with family and friends. When you stop in you will see us at the stoves. We look forward to seeing you around the neighborhood!
Sincerely,
Paul Arenstam, Charlene Reis and Theo
